A postcard from St Andrews

Since Mrs P was at work (c/o Planko's chauffeur service early this morning) and the kids were away swimming for two hours, I decided to head across to St Andrews for some blipping rather than sitting on my fat arse watching TV.

As I got there at a reasonably early hour, there weren't much tourists around, and as its the weekend, most of the fishing boats were in the harbour. It's still a working harbour, and the buildings you can see still have workshops/lockups underneath for the fishermen rather than them all being garages for the people who live above.

One of the fishermen was rigging up some new pots for his boat and stringing them all together. Gone are the days of dropping individual pots and pulling them up one at a time; nowadays they are all connected as a long string which is apparently more efficient and results in only one guy (occasionally two) on the boat doing everything.

Was surprised by the number of Dundee (DE) registered boats that were over there. Guess it's more fuel efficient berthing in St Andrews and fishing the fife coast than having to return to Dundee each day. Probably also to do with Dundee not having a fish market anymore.

Anyway, it's a nice day today so guess i'd better cut the grass seeing as it's weeks since i last did it and the neighbours are all out doing theirs. Hope you all have a good day.

[Seeing as blip have changed their rules about borders, I thought I would take advantage of the change and show this with one for a change]
