Feather duster worm
This is the new feather duster worm in my marine tank. I just love the invertebrates in the tank. They are so different. It is a 55 gallon tank and it has 6 small fish, but lots of inverts, many of whom that have just hitched a ride into the tank on the (farm raised) living rock instead of being purposely acquired. This is the joy of this kind of tank, watching it evolve.
Feather duster worms look like flowers but are polycheate worms. The tendrils are used to filter feed. I am not sure how it knows I am watching but if I move abruptly it retracts into it's tube, then I have to wait for it to relax and send out it's tendrils again.
