Dancing in the street
Friday night, end of the week and time to wind down. We decided to go and join "Leeds Light night". Borrowed from the continent, the light night is a night where art and music fill the streets, museums, libraries and cinemas all night long. There were a lot of art installations all across town and this is from one of them.
To be perfectly honest, I did not get it. It was set in the garden of one of the small town squares and students from Leeds Metropolitan University were all dressed up in ghostly clothes, green light reflecting wired uniforms or mining attire and were mimicking something. Very confusing. What I loved, however, was the atmosphere around town. Everyone was outside, walking across town, discovering things and having a good time. It was good.
After dinner and a bit more art, we ended the night with a 3 hour session of short movies at the Hyde Park picture house. There were some very odd ones, good ones, funny ones and sad ones, all accompanied by tea and cakes and live string quartet.
Overall, a very interesting and different night.
Have a good weekend.

There'll be music everywhere
They'll be swinging, swaying, records playing,
