River Annan
We walked with the club today on the Annandale Way, near the border town of Annan. The walk started at Hoddom Castle and followed the river for seven miles right to the town of Annan. The weather was wonderful, and even more so since the last two days were very wet, however, the sun shone on us all day.
My picture is a typical river view, I loved the bright new green of the trees and the sparkling river. I could have shown you some wild flowers, there were lots, garlic flowers, bluebells, marsh marigolds, wood anemones, to name but a few. I had hoped for a heron or two, but no luck. I took so many pictures it is difficult to choose but I felt that this showed our walking day well. The picture is even nicer in large, I think.
We had a couple of hours in the town of Annan after our walk, which was nice, spent the time looking around the spotlessly clean centre of the town, and of course having a refreshment at a local hostelry.
Altogether a wonderful day.
