The cricket match

An English amateur cricket match, at Ebberston, North Yorkshire.
I'm no fan of cricket, don't particularly look forward to photographing the game, but can't help but be taken by the sheer 'Englishness' of a village cricket match. The setting, the sunshine(hopefully), the lads having fun, the old men sitting sagely, the ladies of the tea and the sandwich, and that soundtrack of birds, wind in the trees, the thwack of leather on wood, all punctuated by the cheers and clapping.
I sit on the boundary, snapping busily, but quietly enjoying the scene, even if I haven't got a clue what's going on....
