A Self-Portrait

Last week I read an article about using different types of light in photography and thought I'd give it a go. I love black and white too....the LED light on my phone was used to light my face. It's always difficult to focus in the dark, especially when it's a self-portrait. This one was a bit out of focus but seemed to work better than a few others.

The day started off with a swim in Salford Quays. Liz who works in the post office has entered her first ever triathlon and wanted to practice open-water swimming. I promised to go with her today.....the downside was that it's been quite cold for the last month so water temp is still very low. I just about coped doing 1000m and Liz managed 400m, simply because of the cold. My blip would have been of the swimming but my camera failed to work! I had simply knocked a setting on my prime lens and it took a wee while to work out....too late !

I went into town tonight and had a play with the camera. Didn't get any inspirational shots though so my weird self-portrait will have to do!
