Common Sandpiper
Got up early today - although not as early as I intended. The sky was a glorious blue but there was a strong bitterly cold wind. I had a pleasant wander around one of my favourite moorland areas and saw lots of good birds - highlights being nesting lapwings, curlews, treecreepers, kestrel, golden plover, 2 snipe, one calling, the other drumming, I also heard a cuckoo and saw some water voles. Not one of my best days for photography though, things were either too far away, in shadow or facing the wrong way. I decided to blip this bird because although I see a pair of them quite often by the reservoir, today it flew over the road and briefly landed by the conduit so the setting is a bit different.
