Michelin Wind Machines

These 2 wind machines dominate the east end of Dundee and are located within the Michelin Tyre Factory. Michelin have been a major employer in Dundee for many years now and have managed to fight off threats of closure more than once. Having said that I heard yesterday that they are shutting production down for three weeks due to a reduction in new car sale in Europe and to address their stock position.

Anyway these two towers were installed a couple of years ago with quite a bit of local resistance although personally I don't mind them. I think they serve a purpose and do a very good job of blowing the fumes from the plant away from the town.
