Poppies I have ever seen!!!

Husband and I wandered over to a small town not too far away to pick up the kids this afternoon. We passed by a school and I was awestruck to see beautiful blooming Tulips along with other flowers in a small garden near the entrance to the school.

Looking at all the bright colors, I noticed just a few Poppies waving about in the sun! Waving? Yes!

The petals on these Poppies were enormous! They looked like crepe paper and as the wind kept changing direction, the petals would flop about from side to side. Their color was so intense, it looked unreal!

I had to snap quickly to try to photograph these flowers as the wind blew! Even though the flowers were perfectly placed in the viewfinder, as soon as I snapped, the wind would blow once again! Thus, although I did have to crop this photo to get the beautiful flowers up close and personal , that is all I needed to do. Their color showed up perfectly!!!
