Annual Banquet

Every year, our department has a banquet at the end of the year to decorate Seniors and graduating grad students with awards, scholarships, etc. I took many pictures there, some vastly better technically, but none came with a better story.

On the left you see Socrates whose brain cannot compute that one of his classmates turned out to be his mother's high-school friend...

She started our program many years ago, didn't finish, and came back much later to complete her degree. To all of us, she was just one of the seniors. We all forgot she could be all of the other seniors' Mom :-)

On the right you see Socrates whose brain stopped smoking from overheating, and the two long-lost high-school buds.
