Perfect day?
Yes, I think this was a perfect day. Spent the day at the Cromer Folk on the Pier Fringe Festival with Roland. The train ran on time and we spent the 40 minute journey in the company of one of our local Green councillors and her husband and the bass player from 'Seize the Day' - one of my favourite bands. The sky was blue, the sun warm and the music throughout the day was just brilliant - just for a fiver!
First item on our plan for the day, though, was to meet up with Folkiebooknerd. She is as funny and charming in the flesh (as it were) as she is here in Blipland. We left her two chums chatting to Rol for a few minutes while we went off to talk blipping on the balcony of the fabulous Rocket cafe overlooking the sea.
Folkie and her chums then trotted off to the concerts of their choice and we wandered up to the Fringe marquee where we caught a couple of fabulous sessions: one by a band called 'Cave' and the other by a guy called Harvey Andrews. It was a lovely informal setting and the lighting levels were just perfect for snapping away.
Wander along the beach and a munch of our picnic then back to the marquee to catch 'Seize the Day' who opened the evening session. Only about 50 people watching but the set was, as ever, brilliant.
So many, many images to choose from from the day but I chose this shot of Richie from Seize the Day because I just love the expression of pure joy on his face.
ps: I think I know know what Katkatzenjammer means when she talks about drummers looking 'special' in photos. I took a few shots of the drummer in Cave and he looked very 'special' indeed in most of them ....
