Stinky job

They have been working on this bridge, which crosses the open sewer in Phnom Penh, for a while. An unpleasant job, made worse this week by the heavy rain and flooding across the city. Their original sandbag wall was destroyed (as I imagine was much of their work), as the sewer level raised and its contents (of which the less said the better) swirled and eddied and gushed and bubbled.

Here, they are rebuilding the defenses...somewhat higher this time.
