Cobblers

Had a day off from our holiday today and went into town for a sausage sandwich...

We eventually wandered into the shoe museum... Northampton is famous for it's shoe industry, although it is in decline now. A huge number of old factories have been converted into loft apartments and chic restaurants.

I urge anyone who has not seen the film "Kinky Boots" to give it a chance - the story is based around Northampton and, in my opinion, is a little gem.

Doc Martens is still around - they sponsor the Rushden and Diamonds football team, and our local team (Northampton Town) is nicknamed "The Cobblers" .....
.... personally, I always thought that was a value judgement.
