just a Moment in the wood

I see elephants fly

As we Scot's say, it's been blowing a hoolie.

But just for the briefest of moments, there was a corner of blue sky and the horizon escaped from the blanket of grey. Thirty minutes later and all was covered again, shape was lost, and all contrast evaporated.

I love clouds. I share Charlie Brown's simple delight in loosing a day watching them. A day with clouds is never a lost day. I count elephants.

The typical cumulous cloud weighs about one hundred elephants, a thundercloud 200,000 elephants. I think half the Serengeti trumped past today.
