Alone Again (Naturally)***

Today I was certain I was blipping a curlew. I even had a shot, with a curlew standing in a patch of sunlight. But then I went down to Picnic Bay and walked out along the old wharf (now in sad disrepair thanks to Cyclone Yasi). I even took another panorama shot because it was so beautiful out on the water. But then I decided not to use any of these photos.

It appears this is a popular spot for wedding photographers to bring their newly married couples, so that they can amble, hand in hand, along the wharf and look lovingly into each others eyes whilst the bride desperately juggles her train and hopes like hell the gown doesn't snag in the splintered timbers. (For the record, the chap in the checked shirt is the wedding photographer, which accounts for his unusual lean over the railings.)

I am pleased to report that the groom put down his beer for the photo shoot.

I don't know why, but the song "Älone Again (Naturally)" popped into my head with this image, the second after the shutter clicked. It was the dog, standing forlornly as the couple tripped their way down the wharf, that made me choose this one. It's not technically perfect or anything, but some whimsy in my addled brain likes this shot.

And if a song pops into my head while I'm taking a photo, it usually means that it's going to be the one I choose. A psychologist could probably have a field day with that snippet of information.
