Green frogs tending tadpoles
Last spring I saw a pair of green frogs at the West end of the pond tending their tadpoles. Today I saw two green frogs at the same end of the pond who appeared to be doing the same thing. Lots of tadpoles in the shallows. Neat! I wonder if they are the same pair? Time to learn more about these frogs again. In other news, the Eastern Slider turtle we saved from the road and released to the pond last year reappeared! I'm so glad to know he has found a home in our little pond. Still lots of Eastern Spotted Newts swimming around, and a few Pickerel frogs. I have not seen an eft for two seasons now. I wonder if something has happened to them?
