Lavender blue, dilly, dilly

This evening I discovered that if I sit here in the fading sun (for the first time this year), having my dinner, with patio doors open, I can catch the news on the television in the background, which is rather decadent.

Last Saturday a dear colleague came round with her daughter, and they bought me this lavender plant in a pot. I've tried it in various places around the garden, and being on the table suits it best. It's almost Provencaal...
