Pub No 8
As you can see if you have been following this series I have made this another 1/2 pub, it's main entrance just like The Dome is also on George Street with a rear entry in Rose Street.
I was in here one very busy Saturday and as often the case I became invisible to the bar staff!! I always leave when this happens.
Pub History
This Wetherspoon pub takes its name from its former use as the Union Bank of Scotland.
The premises, at 62-66 George Street, which have always been used as a bank, are listed Grade A. The building was designed between 1874-1878, in a neo-classical style, by David Bryce, and completed by his nephew John. It opened as a pub on July 3rd 1997.
