More creepy Song lyrics written on Bananas

A minor case of the Lurgy coupled with another bought of insomnia and my mind has been wandering off to strange places again.
Hence the fairly poor bananas picture.
I don't know if you're familiar with the song "Living Doll" but the second stanza deeply disturbing.
The only interpretations I can think of are that either the protagonist has an actual doll with human hair or he has a woman in a box. Or it's some sort of metaphor that I don't understand.
At the very least he's offering the listener a feel of his girlfriend's hair to prove her existence.
For a seemingly saccharine song it's more than a little sinister.
Now imagine it covered by Placebo...
