Dermestid larva

Trying out my new microscope eyepiece camera again - this time on a tiny (3mm) wriggling spec my wife found on the wall of our bedroom. The camera worked well and I was able to inform her that it is the larva of a Dermestid beetle, Anthrenus verbasci, otherwise known as the Varied Carpet Beetle. This species is probably around in low numbers all the time, feeding on any organic material from dead animals and feathers to stored cereals and upholstery, but it can occur as a major infestation. A frantic deep vacuuming session ensued and I was sworn to reveal any other similar findings in the house. Anyway, I still have it in a pot and am getting some nice videos of it moving around.
