With most of our Christmas shopping done -apart from one or two bits and pieces- Laura and I decided to have a day at the Frankfurt Christmas market in Birmingham, away from the evening/weekend hordes.

We had a really nice, relaxed day,
- the bullring and free coffee in Selfridges
- bratwursts with gluhwein & apfelwein
- a German Elvis impersonator doing Christmas songs
- mooching round the stalls
- reindeer burger (ok, I regretted that one)
- a visit to the Staffordshire Hoard
- Berliner Pfannkuchen
- and then a quick visit to see Mom & Dad on the way home.

It was nice not to have to fight through crowds of people or worry about desperately hunting around for presents.
