Breakfast

I am away home tomorrow and so have been getting up earlier and earlier to try and avoid too much jet lag on the other side of the pond. I was hoping for a decent sunrise seeing as I had made the effort to rise early - but the sun was hidden for ages behind a dense cloud blanket.

Later in the morning, however, my son spotted this bird of prey taking his breakfast and this shot was taken with his camera.  Apart from identifying it as a bird of prey I have no idea what it is - any suggestions, remembering that I am in the desert lands of Nevada.?
