Sad, sad, sad and mince pies

Funeral this morning of a friend, and the father of one of my daughter's friends.  His son gave a moving speech explaining that his father had simply died of a broken heart after his wife passed away.  Two teenagers left to cope alone.  We are here for them, but it's hard to work out how to help.
