But, then again . . . . .

View Over the City.

I usually try to post my blips before midnight though, usually, I don't succeed. Today, Blip Central's efforts at updating the website scuppered that intention. I've now had a quick look round and don't like what I see, it all seems to be a bit clunky; it may take some time to get used to it. I did notice the valid complaint that the white background to the pages are not ideal for displaying photographs, maybe I'll add my voice in support.

I drove into Morningside today to deliver the errant trophy from Saturday; my sat/nav took me by a rather devious route as it is optimised for cycling, I suppose I should be grateful that it didn't try and take me along the canal path. On the way I noticed this view over the city and across the Froth to Fife and thought it might be worth a shot. Returning by the same devious route I stopped for a look, the mess of recycling bins, street furniture and out-of-place modern buildings rather spoil the view but I decided that they probably added to the photograph. You, as always, are free to disagree.

When we first moved to Mbra, we lived a bit further down this road, in the near-to-middle distance, a suburb called Morningside. Before our arrival it was known as a rather posh area, a place where sex was what the coal was delivered in, but In the wee small hours of one morning we had to call the police out, our neighbours were out in the street making a lot of noise and playing tug-of-war with a shot-gun and a baby.
There were three children in the family, the two older ones were  friendly and polite but they had chosen the wrong parents and can't have had much to look forward to in life.
