£45 for a cab, the going price

So we arrived down in London town mid morning and ad to get a cab to the centre from the centre. No it was going to take two hours for a contract cab to get to us, no they don't take cards, no the three cash machines we tried to stop at to get some cash were out of order, seemingly a very common occurrence in this small town, no there is no other option but pay through the nose.

I was telling the cabbie the highway code, box junctions, pretty simple principle. And it ccost us £45.

What else, it was raining harder than in Edinburgh.
