Pohutukawa (New Zealand Christmas tree)

We have a pohutukawa tree (Metrosideros excelsa)  in our garden, but it is a long way from flowering yet.  This specimen is further down the hill, and north facing, so many of the flowers are out now.  It was drizzly this morning when I walked down the hill, so I had only my iPhone with me.
