New Year Coming!

New Year coming - as announced on banners on the Bolshoy Kamenny Bridge ("Great Stone Bridge") which runs past the Kremlin.  The bridge was the first stone bridge built in Moscow - in 1690.  The current structure, commissioned in 1938, is the third version of the bridge.

Incidentally, one of the team of architects who designed this latest version of the bridge, Mikhail Minkus, was also on the team that designed yesterday's blip.  Another view of the bridge hit the Spotlight on 23 November 2014.
