Tomorrow, bright and far too early, I'm off to hospital for my long awaited cataract surgery. I haven't seen anything but light and dark out of this eye for a long time and lately the my left eye has been starting to noticeably blur and dim as the cataract there grows like its twin. I'll have to wait till it gets much worse before they'll operate on that one but tomorrow there will be an explosion of light, my field of view will widen back to normal from its monocular little arc and I'll get my distance perception back as the world becomes three dimensional again. Equipped with a plastic lens this will become my cyborg eye!
