Pitt Street Sky

On the way to the shops for lunch one last time from the old flat, in the middle of another day of cleaning. All looks spotless now, ready for tomorrow. I had a friend who used to live on Pitt Street - D and I went to school together. I remember watching Scotland winning a Grand Slam on the TV in his flat. Some years later we were in Kirkcudbright for New Year with friends and got chatting to some other people in the pub. Turned out they were from Edinburgh too and I asked where they lived. 'Pitt Street', they said. 'Oh, I had a friend who used to live there, what number?' And it turned out they were renting his flat as he hadn't sold it when he moved away. Small world.
