Aperture on Life

Woodland Stream

Another image taken during a photographic group walk around the Friday Street area of Wotton. The idea was to find the last fungi, identify and photograph them.

I'd had to cancel the week earlier as it poured with rain.  Just in case someone turned up I'd loaded James and the dogs in the car for a wet walk.  Nobody to be seen so we had a  good root around the area adjacent to the car park and found a number of species.   One member arriving late found us returning to the vehicle, soaked to the skin and it was unfortunately too late to start out once again.

One week later, the weather was so different but it was just those few days too late to find much worthwhile. All that remained were the polypores on the birch, the sulpher tufts and the earthballs. We did, however, have a good stroll along the river and through the woods so, the images that came out from the walk weren't lacking.

I liked this image best. I wasn't hoping for a long exposure without a tripod to come out at all.
