Brummy Lederhosen
We visited Birmingham today, to see the Staffordshire Hoard. I'd wanted to see it for a long while, but Technophobe's recent blip of one of the items on display gave me a kick up the bum to go.
It was fabulous and very interesting, and well worth a visit. Most of the pieces are so tiny and delicate, that it's amazing they survived or were ever found.
We had forgotten that the German Christmas Market was on. There were dozens of stalls, selling everything German that you could ever wish for - food, drink, crafts, toys, clothes, decorations and jewellery. I would think it's at its best to see in the evening, with all the lights twinkling. These guys were obviously enjoying their German beer and started to cheer me and wave when they saw I was taking photographs of them.
Some excellent news that has cheered me up a lot. Yesterday, one of the parcels that they thought had been returned to the UK, was brought round personally to our son's home in Taipei by a postman. They had discovered that one parcel was still there, and so they delivered it to them immediately. We don't know which parcel it was as when C packed them he was just trying to get slightly under 2 Kg in each, and can't remember what went into which. Never mind - they've got something for Christmas, which has made us very happy Christmas bunnies.
