Phoenix

I thought this looked a little like Phoenix rising from the flames, as the winter sun set at its feet (a metaphor, perhaps?)

In fact it's a sculpture of a cormorant with the skeleton of a fish in its mouth, created by Elizabeth Cooke. It first appeared in my journal last December, but this is perhaps a better image, showing the outspread wings and the shape of the head and beak.

Last night I was browsing the forums, and particularly all the comments about the dazzling white, which was causing me some issues. Following some very helpful advice, I checked my screen settings and found they were at 100% brightness. I turned the Eco setting on (44% brightness) which immediately reduced the glare and made the site much more user friendly. Result!
