the anvil

The weather was against me for much of the day. It poured with rain at lunchtime, and when the sun shone in the afternoon I couldn't get away with my camera.
We ventured out for a postprandial stroll - it was FREEZING. So it was snap and run back home for hot drinks!
I think this kind of cloud formation is called an anvil, and that it means a storm is coming.
