Free in this green and pleasant land.

This stylised image of New Zealand is on the side of a hessian bag, purchased for a few dollars and  made by a woman on a journey to freedom in Kolkata, India.
As the label says, she used to sell her body, alongside thousands of other women. Trapped in prostitution, without choice,dignity or hope, her poverty-stricken life was full of shame.
Today, she can choose to make these Freeset bags, working decent hours for decent money and is learning to read and write. As she collects her daughter from the nursery , she knows freedom and dignity is being passed to the next generation .
How fortunate I am...my choices are legion.
