Save Your Stamps!!
Blue sky saturday! Well,so far so good anyway!! Just hoping it stays like this as more pottering is required in the garden!
Sorting through the post this morning has allowed me to save more stamps that i help to sort and collect for the RNIB so thought i'd have a little play and get the plea out to everyone that if you dont already save your stamps for a charity, then please could you save them up and send them to this very worthwhile charity as it raises so much money!
Here is a bit of info from the RNIB website...
Recycling used stamps
Stamps are sorted by volunteers. They are mostly sold by weight, if we can identify any valuable stamps they can be sold for a higher price. As a general guideline RNIB can expect to receive around £7 for one kilogram of British stamps. We also raise up to £15 for a kilogram of overseas stamps. Do encourage your friends and family, at home and abroad, to save their stamps for RNIB.
Our amazing volunteer Terri has raised thousands of pounds for RNIB from stamp collecting and is continuing on her mission to raise even more, she says "My house is like a stamp warehouse - there's no room for the family!"
Join Terri in raising funds for blind and partially sighted people by donating your stamps today.
How to donate used stamps
Sorting your stamps
Please cut the stamp off the envelope - our volunteers prepare thousands of stamps and this will save them hours of work. When cutting, leave approximately 1cm of envelope bordering each stamp. The rest of the envelope can be discarded (which will make it cheaper to send). Please separate the stamps into:
British
Overseas - Jersey, Guernsey, Eire and Isle of Man are classed as overseas
The value of a stamp does not matter, so 1p stamps can be grouped together with £1 stamps.
Where to send your stamps
Collected stamps should be sent to:
RNIB Stamp Recycling
PO Box 185
BENFLEET
SS7 9BH
so please spare a couple of minutes each day if you can to just put by any stamps you get that day and then send them our way as we will be very grateful!! Thankyou!!!
