City Hall in colour

We went into town last night and brushed shoulders with the masses in Christmas party mood (the masses, not us).  We ate in Deans and were surprised to find 10% already added to the bill as "tip" and the total payable listed as the amount including tip.  My enquiries were met with polite sniffiness.  A gratuity should be at my discretion.  If it is already added to the bill it is not a tip, it is part of the charge for the meal. I paid, but I will not be back in Deans again. Went on to see/listen to great choral singers Melisma in the company of friends, Eileen and David, and home by train.  Lovely evening despite the restaurant's endeavours to spoil it.
