Going for gold

A glorious day of clear skies and mild temperature for the time of year. The current daytime 8 deg C is not even cold enough for winter tyres, which become desirable at 7 deg ambient and below. The forecast is for colder weather going into January, but it isn't here yet.

As the sun sunk towards the horizon at around 4 pm it glowed gold like the Christmas baubles decorating our tree. There seem to have been more wonderful sunsets this December than usual. Hope there will be a few more before New Year!
