Day 1
The ski season has begun, despite the general lack of snow. You can see the tussocks poking out in the background but my friend and I found this sheltered spot where there was enough snow to inspire us to hike up for ten minutes or so. Then we had about 30 seconds of great snow before we were back to dodging the rocks and tussocks.
This is the first time I've had the opportunity to ski for most of the season, and the worst snow in 50 years, but I will make the most of what there is and I plan to post an image every day I ski. The forcast is clear skies and cold for the foreseeable future so I guess I will continue to hunt for more stashes like this one, and be grateful that I am here enjoying it. Every day skiing is a good day.
