Late night parking

It was the final meeting of Incandescent in Cardiff Central Library this evening. Led by poet and musician Juliette Llewellyn, Incandescent is a great group, which meets once a quarter in Cardiff Central Library to read, share and discuss published poetry. Sometimes there's a theme, like tonight's of the First World War Centenary, but often there isn't.

It usually takes me about 20 - 30 minutes to drive into Cardiff, depending what the traffic is like.

As you can see from the picture, it took slightly longer this evening.

Thursday is late night shopping night in Cardiff anyway, but with this being the last Thursday before Christmas, it was especially busy.

I made it to within 200 metres of the end of the queue you can see in about 25 minutes, but from there to the car park took me another 50 minutes!!

Happily, I made it just in time for the start of the evening's poetry session, and it was a particularly good one, with some moving poems and heartfelt discussion.

We adjourned to a nearby coffee shop afterwards for coffee and cake, too, so it was worth making the long queue in.
