In today's newspaper

While leafing through the pages of today's newspaper I came across this death notice.  It's for Soffía Zophaníasdóttir, the woman who had a big influence on my decision of education and profession for 20 years.  She was the head teacher of the first preschool I was hired to work in (Nóaborg in Reykjavík) and I guess she saw some potential in me, this 18 year old girl who'd had enough of college and just wanted to do something new.  Soffía was a really nice lady and a respected preschool-teacher.

And to add a little extra to the story:  
One of the first children I had in my care in this preschool was a 3 year old lively, cute and very memorable boy. He is now the manager of the big supermarket where my son Kári is working :)
