Gardens

This morning we visited a secret garden. Just along a lane close to home stands Danescourt Cottage. We often walk past the cottage and wish we lived here as it is soooo lovely. Today they held an open day to raise some money for some local charities. We had scone and tea and a potted history of the house and garden, an opportunity to walk around their garden, say hello to their pygmy goats, sheep, geese, chucks and ducks. They were also selling home made biscuits, cakes, eggs and bunches of greenery and mistletoe.

The gardens are really extensive and run down to the River Rat, and the owners have several summerhouses dotted about which they use for relaxing in after working hard with their animals, garden or allotment.

Beautiful way to relax today.
