Clusters of Buds

 
Remember the opening Daylily bud I showed you on blip yesterday?


 
This is a cluster of buds produced by the same type of plant, but growing in my garden.
 
The morning sun reaches this garden, only it was cloudy this morning and these plants were in deep shade.


This afternoon it was a different story. The sun was shining and while still high in the sky it was filtering through the apricot tree to highlight the tips of these swelling buds.


These will burst to reveal orange blooms, and as each flower fades, another will open for a continuous, but reasonably short display of beautiful flowers.
 


This afternoon I made apricot jam from fruit off our tree – the first reasonable crop of fruit in several years.
