Christmas tree.

The iconic  pohutukawa tree is a part of the New Zealand Christmas tradition because at this time of year it is covered in beautiful festive red flowers.The flower is a mass of red stamens which gradually unfurl to often fully cover the tree. In my pic I have chosen a flower which shows various stages of unfurling of the stamens.To look into these flowers is to marvel at the wonder and beauty of the natural world.
