The Flatirons
With some extra days enforced by there being no flights in the US, we paid a visit to the Flatirons. Without a guidebook, we went to Borders bookshop in Boulder, scribbled down the route description on a receipt and set off for the climb. We climbed the right hand Flatiron, which was very easy. So much so that it wasn't much of a surprise when we were overtaken on the 6th pitch by a local dude soloing in his trainers.
Before the abseil off the top, we remarked at how empty the skies were without vapour trails.
