21th Door of my Advent Calendar: Winter Solstice i

Sunrise at 9.43am and sunset 15.02pm, that makes 5hours and 19minutes light time. To my (our) fortune it is almost winter solstice.
The sun did not climb much higher than this today, but the darkest day of the year was this time surprisingly (shiningly) sunny.

Of course this is not too fancy shot.
But the feeling... Just... Beautiful...

I was so amazed as sun was rising behind the woods on our home hill, that went out and only could stand on the snowy road and stare the view, the sunrise on a clear sky, the flares red and yellow behind the dark forest.

Ovewhelming. We have had only few light sunny minutes here lately...

And xmas is near: some driving around today, lovely weather (ok, slippery roads too) -3c, visiting friends, changing small xmas presents. And a good homemade dinner in the evening, some gratinated broccoli and salmon baked in cream-pepper-sauge, potatoes and salad.

What comes to my Advent calendar, I'd like to show you today a short 6' walk in Pispala esker before christmas, there is christmas trees sold and a hard frozen snow is scrunching under your feet when walking: there is 100% soundtrack, so you can feel the silence of winter. The clip is shot 4 years ago near solstice in Tampere.
