Railway crossing

Most of the trains that come through now are freight.  They are proposing a new super goods train, half a mile long or longer.  On the face of it this seems a good initiative except there are already very long waits at level crossings at certain times of the day that cause traffic chaos in town.  If only lines like this still ran passenger trains and people could leave their cars at home. Eventually cars will have to be taxed off the road or there will be a pay by mile system for our transport infrastructure is creaking.
I caught up with some office tidying and Christmas preparations.  The day was mostly dull and cloudy but at least the clouds parted to allow another beautiful sunset at the end of the shortest day.
