Not quite what I was hoping for

I was hoping to support the daylight challenge today and dutifully went out at 7:40 am to capture sunrise.........If it happened!


While a thin sliver of clear sky sat on the eastern horizon it had no impact on the light at dawn and even though I saw the sun peak through the cloud for a brief scintilla, that was it.  So I had to wait until later that day before finding some interesting light.
