Winter solstice

It was winter solstice today, the shortest day of the year. The sun rose here in Glasgow at 8:46 am and set at 3:44 pm giving us supposedly 6 hrs 58 mins of daylight. However there was not much light here today as it was overcast and rained all day. All in all a typical dreich Scottish December day.

It has been possible to see the Interntional Space Station all week but unfortunately the cloud cover has prevented us from getting any sightings. We are holding out hope for Christmas eve.
