Zebedee wanted me to get some photos of his pets babies today. These are baby firebellied newts, bred in his bedroom and nurtured lovingly over many months. As adults the newts are almost exclusively aquatic, but the young move to the land as soon as they lose their gills.
These animals are about 30mm long
