Hollywood Game Night!
Every year we have a Christmas covered dish at my church. It usually happens on a Sunday night, a week or two before Christmas. Everyone from the congregation is invited to come and bring friends. People are asked to bring a covered dish that they would like to share with everyone. This year we had a lot of food! There was pork and sauerkraut, chicken, cheese potatoes, taco salad, fruit trays, and so much more. For dessert there were cupcakes, cookies, pies, and this amazing chocolate and peanut butter dessert. After everyone was finished eating, the entertainment began. First, two girls from the congregation did a dance routine that they learned in there dance class. They did a really good job! After the dance, we sang some Christmas songs. After the songs, the Hollywood Game Show started. My mom prepared a game show for the main even of the evening. There was an adult team and a children’s team. The children were Team Olaf, and the adults were Team Frosty. There were three games that they played. For the first one, the kids went first. They had four cards that each had a letter on them. My mom gave them a riddle and using the letters on the cards, they had to spell out the words. They had three words and they were timed. The adults did the same thing with different words. The adults won this round, because they had the fastest time. The next game was a matching game. The teams took turns guessing matches, and the team with the most matches won. The adult team won again, and at this time the adults were up 12 to 2. The last round was worth 20 points. In this game they were given cards with words on them, and they had to put the cards in order to form a line of a Christmas carol, and then the people in the audience would have to sing the line once it was in order. The kids won this one, which means they won the game. They were so happy and they each got a big Hershey kiss. I think everyone had a good time, and I think they are looking forward to another game show next year.
